Lighthouse of Posidi

Built in 1864, the lighthouse of Possidi still stands despite the endless tides that have caused several ground transformations over the decades.
Once found at the edge point of Cape Possidi, the lighthouse is now found farther from the water – due to the constant shifting of the sand and the playful patterns the sea waves and tides create.
The lighthouse of Possidi is one of the greatest landmarks in Kassandra, Halkidiki, and worth visiting even at night time.
The lighthouse of Possidi Cape stands 14,5 meters tall in an area stripped of dense bushes. Although the lighthouse nowadays stands closer to the local green area than the shore, the region is popular for its peculiar (and may we add fantastic) beach.
